ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Indiana, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Indiana University in 2006. While working as a classroom teacher, my passion for educational technology grew. After ten years as a classroom teacher, I pursued this passion and earned a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Michigan State University. Thereafter, I accepted a position as University of Chicago Laboratory Schools' first Lower School Technology Integration Specialist. In this capacity, I designed and taught computer science curriculum, supported teachers with educational technology in their classrooms, provided professional development, and pioneered the Lower School makerspace program. In my current role as K-12 Instructional Technology Specialist for Chelsea School District in Chelsea, Michigan, I do many of these same things while also supporting the Technology Department with the school website, PowerSchool, report card creation, textbook rostering, digital media license maintenance, and more.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling with my husband, spending time with our sweet daughter, Emerson, and playing with our dog, Harper. I also love being outdoors, capturing memories in photographs, exploring new restaurants and places, blogging, and organizing anything and everything!
